Throwing Knife Review:
The Toro Pharaoh is a formidable throwing knife designed for serious enthusiasts of the World Knife Throwing League seeking good competition performance in their throwing endeavors. For this throwing knife review, we’ll go into detail on whether or not you may want to try it out yourself!
Design and Aesthetic:
Designed particularly for competition in the World Knife Throwing League for which its design was approved for. It’s wider blade face lends well to the surface area of the knife helping with getting a large amount of target covered. This design may be a bit front-heavy for some folks but that does add a bit more punch to the rotation when it hits the target. One thing to note is that the blade edge doesn’t go all the way down to the guard and I’m a fan of that. Because there is a guard though I’m less worried about potential injury when throwing from the handle as it is intended. The other design issue is primarily for the sport in which it’s played so this may not be an issue for the casual thrower, but all WKTL approved knives must have a guard which it seems there is differing opinions on. I personally don’t see an issue with that.
Build Quality and Durability:
The knife features a thicker design, with a front end weight distribution that lends itself to powerful throws. Crafted from high-grade stainless steel, the Pharaoh boasts durability that can withstand many repeated throwing sessions without compromising on performance. The only downside is the guard. They seem to hold up quite well from initial testing with their thicker profile but we see potential issues with them breaking off with repeated use.
Performance:
This knife delivers consistent and satisfying results. The blade’s sharp edge and perfectly balanced weight ensure that it sticks effortlessly into targets with each throw, allowing throwers to focus on honing their skills without worrying about inconsistent performance. With proper care and maintenance, the Raptor is sure to provide years of reliable performance and enjoyment.
Overall Rating:
3.5/5 stars
This is definitely a solid knife for WKTL competitions. Even if you’re not looking to compete it still throws well though it may be a bit larger for most other throwers’ typical experience.
