The International Knife Throwing Hall of Fame

The International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame (IKTHOF), founded by Mike ‘Alamo’ Bainton in the 1990s, serves to govern and support athletes in the sports of knife throwing, tomahawk throwing, archery, and target whips.

Distinguished by its inclusive approach, IKTHOF does not segregate competitions by gender, ensuring that all participants compete on equal footing regardless of their sex. This inclusivity extends across all its activities, fostering a welcoming environment for every competitor.

Over the years, IKTHOF has expanded significantly, has boasted participants from all over the world in its Championships. These competitions feature various throwing categories, including the prestigious Gold Cup awards, presented annually to outstanding throwers who compete in their world championships.

A notable facet of IKTHOF’s activities is its collaboration with the Guinness Book of World Records. The organization tracks numerous records from the 1990s to the present, many of which are recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. Among these achievements is the record for Winning the Most Knife Throwing Titles, a distinction currently held by Mike Bainton himself.

In addition to competitive accolades, IKTHOF honors individuals with lifetime achievement awards and other special recognitions for their contributions to the art and sport of knife throwing. These awards highlight the dedication and skill of those who have significantly impacted this unique pastime.
